Family-Owned Since 1995

J.C. and Liz Keith purchased Buhler Market in September 1995. They had fallen in love with the town of Buhler, and when presented with the option to buy the local grocery store, they decided to take that leap. They had three daughters in grade school, middle school, and high school. The grocery store very quickly became the family business. Their oldest daughter, Sarah, took over as manager in 2005. The grocery store is now in its third generation within the Keith/Orem family.

…But before that,

In the late 1920’s, Dave Franz opened the grocery store in Buhler as Franz IGA. Mr. Franz operated the store until the mid to late 1950’s when he sold it to George Klassen. It then became known as Klassen Market. George developed the secret recipe for “Buhler’s Famous Smoked German Sausage”. This is the same recipe that is still used today! George operated the store until the late 1970’s at which time Rick Turner purchased the store and changed the name to Buhler Market. Rick owned and operated Buhler Market until the early 1990’s. After a short time period of the store being closed, John and Joyce Yoder purchased it and reopened it. They ran the store until J.C. and Liz Keith bought it in 1995.
